Swallow's Broadway debut was High Fidelity. There, she performed in a wide variety of productions, including King Lear, The Taming of the Shrew at the Guthrie Theater; Much Ado About Nothing for Shakespeare in the Park. Additionally, the off Broadway productions Romantic Poetry & Measure for Pleasure were presented with world premieres. Swallow began her career in film as a playwright for the military in The Lucky Ones. She was in several world premieres, such as Donald Margulies' The Country House in Los Angeles' Geffen Playhouse; Louis Jenkins' Nice Fish in Minneapolis' Guthrie Theatre opposite Mark Rylance[citation required] John Patrick Shanley's Romantic Poetry in Manhattan Theater Club. In 2010, she was awarded the Falstaff Award as the best female performer in the world for her part as the Taming of the Shrew. The Taming of the Shrew. She then appeared on Southland as well as Ringer, The Good Wife and NCIS. She starred in The Mentalist, playing FBI agent Kim Fischer. The role was given to Amara "the Darkness" in 2015's eleventh Supernatural season. In 2019, she's the Armorer of The Mandalorian in Star Wars, as well as the head of the traditionalist Mandalorians. Her appearance hasn't been featured in the show as traditionalists are not allowed to wear their armors in front of others. This is evident more so in Season 3 as the focus upon the Mandalorian and their people has grown.
