He was usually picked on at school. Being an avid Spider-Man follower, he saw himself as Spider-Man's alter ego, Peter Parker. After attending various schools such as Priory Preparatory School and City of London Freemen's School the actor went to Central School of Speech and Drama and the University of London where he was awarded his degree in 2004. He began his interest in acting when he realized he was not keen on studying business any more. His professional career took off in 2005 when he appeared in the British TV series "Sugar Rush". In the following year, he plays his debut lead role in the feature film "Boy A." as an unruly boy who is trying to rebuild his life after being of imprisonment. He was also in "The Social Network,"" acting as the principal character followed by the movie "The Amazing Spider-Man." In addition to being able to fill a multitude of roles he was cast as the lead actor in the historical documentary "Silence" in 2016. There were numerous awards presented to him, including The BAFTA Award and Tony Award. He also received an A.A.C.T.A. Award for "Best Actor following his appearance as the character "Hacksaw Ridge." As well as these accolades, he was awarded several Oscar nominations as well as the chance to work with actors like Sam Worthington, Campbell Scott as well as the first Spider-Man, Tobey Maguire.
